Challenge
Moldova’s healthcare system heavily relied on paper-based processes for prescribing and dispensing medications and medical devices. This approach led to inefficiencies, frequent errors, and an inconvenient experience for patients, who often faced delays and complications in obtaining their necessary treatments. Additionally, there was a lack of transparency and control over the prescription process, making it difficult to track and manage medications effectively.
Solution
In collaboration with the government, we developed an ePrescription system in just 11 months that modernized the prescription process in the country. This secure web solution, fully responsive on tablets and mobile devices, ensures that the prescription process is efficient, accurate, and easy to use. Access to the system is safeguarded with digital signatures, and functionalities are controlled based on user roles to maintain security and integrity.

Our team built a modern and scalable system operating with 1,400+ healthcare providers, 1,688+ pharmacies and providing access to needed treatment for 500,000+ patients.
Our senior team led the development of the ePrescription solution from start to finish, collaborating closely with all stakeholders, including doctors, pharmacists, government entities, medical institutions, and patients, to deliver an optimal solution for nationwide adoption. We managed the project from initial requirements scoping and design through to a successful live launch, using innovative technologies and a microservices-based architecture to ensure scalability, reliability, and data consistency. This successful project now serves the entire country, enabling seamless and error-free access to medicine and medical devices for all citizens.
